The Mary Henry Humanitarian Award, established in 2005, honors the enduring legacy of Mary Henry, whose unwavering dedication to service both within the media industry and the broader community continues to inspire. Mary Henry was a beacon of generosity, selflessly dedicating her time, talents, and heart to uplift others. This prestigious award is presented annually in her name to an individual who exemplifies exceptional volunteerism and a profound commitment to making a positive difference in the media industry and local community.
This year, we are proud to honor Angel Gonzales, a dedicated customer service representative for the Telemundo and NBCUniversal Sales teams for the past 15 years. Angel has gone above and beyond as a Co-Leader for the Women’s Network and the Young Professionals Network at NBCU. Her passion for service is deeply rooted in her commitment to giving back, particularly through her tireless work to support homeless communities.
Angel’s impact extends far beyond her professional duties. With the guidance of NBC Community Affairs Director Nada Ruddock, she became a Dallas Ambassador for NBCUnites. She worked alongside a global team to create and support non-profit organizations dedicated to bettering communities. Her volunteerism stretches to Houston, where she dedicates her time to Navidad en el Barrio, a holiday program that brings joy to 2,000 underprivileged children. Whether it’s building a butterfly garden at an elementary school, organizing a weekend team-building event at the Texas Area Food Bank, or leading her sales team to feed people experiencing homelessness, Angel’s dedication to volunteerism and community service is evident.
As Angel prepares to graduate from her one-year Sales Training program and travels to 30 Rockefeller in New York in May, her journey continues to inspire. She demonstrates an extraordinary work ethic, a strong commitment to her community, and a desire to encourage others to serve those in need. Angel Gonzales is a truly deserving recipient of the 2024 Mary Henry Humanitarian Award for her tireless efforts and unwavering spirit.
Angel will be celebrated at the AWM Gala on April 3rd, 2025. We are deeply grateful to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter of Alliance for Women in Media for providing DREAM Fund with the opportunity to honor a remarkable member of our community who has given so much.
