DREAM Fund is Philanthropy
Philanthropic efforts are at the heart of everything DREAM Fund does. Our goal is to assist people in the advertising industry who are facing a life crisis by bridging the gap between the crisis and whatever their new "normal" may look like.
These efforts fall into two categories: Financial Assistance and Outreach.
DREAM Fund's criteria for Financial Assistance are as follows:
Who qualifies:
- People employed in advertising and media for at least one year, or who have worked in the industry for one year and not left our industry for more than one year. If the person has retired from our industry, they qualify for up to 10 years after retirement.
- The advertising employee, spouse and minor children for which they are legally responsible.
What conditions qualify:
- Priority is given to medical conditions and natural disasters.
How we help:
- Our main focus is meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, utilities and medical expenses.
What we require:
- We need verification of financial impact of crisis and financial status of individual.
- The person must certify that they have limited income to meet the financial impact of the situation, that they have no significant savings to draw from and/or that no family is available to assist.
- It is helpful if someone in our industry has first-hand knowledge of the condition and the person's inability to meet their basic needs.
- We strive to pay service providers (mortgage companies, doctors, etc.) directly whenever possible.
DREAM Fund's Outreach Assistance includes some of the following:
- We attempt to guide the individuals to other organizations that may offer assistance (Red Cross, local churches, government aid, etc.).
- We provide services (when possible) such as meals, babysitting, errands, rides to doctor's office, hospital visits, etc.
- Cards, flowers, phone calls and emails for encouragement, condolence, etc.
